Knock down texture… we are not fans. I know why it is popular from a builder’s point of view: it is fast, inexpensive, and it hides a lot of sins in drywall finish.
One of the largest and messiest parts of this remodel would be skimming the entire interior of the house. It was a serious undertaking, and one that required extra muscle via family. I don’t have any pictures of this process, as I was being pulled in more directions than I could handle with our business and the remodel.
Of all the upgrades we have made, this is easily one of our favorite.
It is a little tough to photograph completely, but our hallway with family photos gives a sense of smooth that we were looking for.
Wall to ceiling texture. We lucked out, the ceilings had already had the old acoustic texture removed, and a skip trowel finish applied.
