Day 78- Hall Bath Tile

Scratch coat is complete! Our tub was lined with multiple layers of heavy cardboard, then plastic.

We opted for a large format subway tile, but would we overlap in thirds?

Or would we overlap in halves? We opted for third overlap, and are pleased with the outcome.

Our tile contractor wasted no time getting this project going, and we were liking our finish choices.

More progress! Work became tedious on the short walls, due to the number of cuts needed.

Our shower niche turned out really neat, and with some creative thinking by our contractor, we were able to get this custom look of wood shelving.

Detail view of our niche: gray penny round for the back, and faux wood tile for trim and shelves. Our contractor bevel cut the tiles in his shop, and the end result presents as wood furniture. He was really impressed with how this finished up, and so were we! Don’t worry, this was before we performed a deep cleaning to remove all tape and dust; that red piece isn’t permanent!
