Day 928- Bypass Barn Door

You might recall our last barn door project House Hacking: Barn Door. That project was built from scratch, and we didn’t really have the energy to do that again.

As chance would have it, our regional family owned hardware store was having a 50% off clearance event on barn door slabs. Eric typically throws these adverts away, but was happy to have saved this one!

We ordered the same hardware as our previous project, in a double door bypass configuration. Here are both the front and rear rails installed.

Door slabs ready for stain, they were completely sanded and ready to go!

Measuring for door mounting hardware.

Holes drilled.

Stain in progress, we opted for two thick coats.

Doors hung and open. Surface mounting handles were used this time to save install effort.

Another project checked off of our list!
